Spring – Budding

It is time to remove the geotextile covers that protected the vines throughout the winter. Nature is awakening in a burst of life. Spring marks the reawakening of the vineyard. Under the watchful eye of the winemaker, the buds break through their protective casing, pushed by the rising sap.

Pruning

Manual pruning begins, clearing away superfluous buds to direct the plant’s vigor. Weeding and hoeing tasks follow in succession, preparing the soil to welcome the new generation of grape clusters.

Blooming

Around the summer solstice, the vines are adorned with flowers. This is a pivotal period where every fertilized flower will develop into fruit. Yet, the work does not stop there: canopy management—including shoot positioning and leaf thinning—is carried out to aerate the grape clusters and protect them from disease. Crop protection is essential to ensure an abundant and high-quality harvest.

The Emergence of the grapes

With summer comes the dance of growth. The clusters swell, and the berries take shape. Canopy management—that delicate balance between leaves and fruit—is paramount to regulating sun exposure and grape ripeness. The winemaker watches over it all, like a conductor, ensuring harmony among the elements.

Harvest at the Dawn of Maturity

Véraison, that magical moment when the grapes change color, signals the beginning of ripening. A race against time now begins, in order to harvest at the dawn of maturity.

Resting time

After the bustle of the harvest comes the time for rest. The year-end pruning is already preparing the next cycle, and the vineyard is covered with protective cloths to face the winter frost. The vines lie dormant, yet the winemaker remains vigilant, already planning the season to come.

The Art of Winemaking

Winemaking is the alchemy that transforms fruit into elixir. It is a delicate art, where science and tradition blend to extract the very best from the grape. Fermentation, maceration, pressing: each step is a note in the symphony of the wine.

Aging and Maturation

The wine is then aged and refined, gaining complexity and character. This maturation process is an intimate conversation between the wine and its vessel, giving birth to unique flavors.

The Ultimate Tasting

At last, the wine has blossomed, reaching the pinnacle of the tasting experience. This is the moment when the winemaker, joined by his loyal companions, shares the fruits of his labor. Each sip is a journey through time and hard work—a moment of communion with the land.
